We define integrity as the practice of being truthful and adhering to strong moral beliefs and values on a constant and unwavering basis. Integrity can also be described as the inner sense of “fulfillment” derived from exhibiting these traits.
According to American Recruiters, “Integrity, for those who are not familiar, is quite important. It is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. People who have a strong sense of integrity are sadly a rare breed.”
Integrity is characterized as the quality of being trustworthy, honest, and compassionate. This is something everyone should aspire to.
Furthermore, everyone should try to surround themselves with trustworthy individuals. What is the best way to detect if someone has absolute integrity? It isn’t something that people can manufacture; here are three attributes of people who naturally exhibit integrity:
Probity
Probity is defined as the ability to act ethically and equitably while adhering to strong moral convictions.
It is critical to demonstrate high standards of probity for people to have faith in you or your services. Probity is what keeps organizations honest by avoiding unethical practices and minimizing conflict.
Honesty
Honesty is a quality of integrity that includes: sincerity, the forthrightness of action, and the absence of lying, cheating, and stealing.
Being honest also entails being dependable, loyal, fair, and truthful. Honesty involves more than merely stating the truth. You must also conduct yourself truthfully. It all comes down to being honest with yourself and others about who you are, what you want, and what you require to live your most true life.
Honesty encourages transparency, empowers us, and allows us to establish consistency in our character.
Contentment
“Contentment is an emotional state of satisfaction that can be seen as a mental state, maybe drawn from being at ease in one’s situation, body, and mind. Colloquially speaking, contentment could be a state of having accepted one’s situation and is a milder and more tentative form of happiness (Eisenblatt S, 2002).”
Being satisfied with what you have, who you are, and where you are, is what it means to be content. It is recognizing and respecting the existing reality. It’s about being grateful for what you have and where you are in life. Contentment does not imply a lack of desire; it just means that you are happy with where you are now. Contentment allows people to embrace integrity rather than cheat, lie, or take shortcuts towards further success.
