Personal growth is a huge area and it encompasses many different topics. To start with you should understand that personal growth means starting a process that leads to changes in your life.

This can include things such as learning how to really discover what it is you want out of life. As well as learning how to set goals and how to reach them and how to learn a new skill in order to get something that you desire.

One area of personal growth that people struggle with is personal mind set. This means changing the way you think about certain things. For example instead of saying something like, “I tried to get the job done.” You would say, “I did my best today.”

Your mind set includes how you view things and in what terms. Are you a positive or negative thinker? You really want to always have a positive mindset as this will allow you to achieve your goals.

There are many areas that you could develop when it comes to your personal growth. Don’t attempt to change too many areas at one time. You are better off to start with just one thing and work on that until you feel comfortable, then add a new one.

If you set small goals you will find it easier to make those changes. For example if you want to lose 50 pounds break it down into segments of 5 or 10 pounds. Then break that goal down and make it smaller and include action steps on how you are going to achieve it.

Action steps for losing weight could include:

  • Walking for 10 minutes each day
  • Cutting out 1 can of soda each day
  • Drinking 1 glass of water before each meal
  • Going to bed at the same time each day

Each of these smaller steps will help you reach your first small goal. It will be easier to reach and by making it easy for yourself your motivation will stay high. Before you know it you will have lost those 10 pounds and you will be ready to tackle the next 10.

Use the method above with any goal you may have such as learning a new skill or developing a new habit. As you reach each small goal take the time to celebrate your success with your friends and family before moving on to your next goal.
