We all need to add a little daring to our lives. Here are six great ways to do something daring – have you done one or more of them?

Go Against the Grain

So what if the Joneses next door have three cars and a McMansion? If you’re content in a cabin in the woods and a beater that gets you where you need to go, but you want to spend your money on experiences instead of things, then go for it!

It takes real courage to do what you want to do instead of what everyone around you is doing.

Ask For Help

It’s a brave thing to realize you need help and reach out for that help. The worst thing that could happen is you get told no.

So then you reach out to someone else. No big deal. There is no doubt that whatever you need, there is someone out there willing and able to help you.

Go For It

What do you dream of doing or having? How would your life change if you attained those things? Work relentlessly toward your dreams, whatever they are. Do whatever it takes. And don’t listen to the naysayers. Know you can achieve it, and then go for it!

Learn To Be Alone

Most people don’t like to be alone. When you’re alone, you start thinking, and when you start thinking, your mind can go to some horrible places. But learning to love being in your own company is one of the most courageous things you can do.

If you can love being alone, it means that you’re okay with the thinking – that maybe you even welcome it. And that’s a sign of a very healthy, strong mind.

Move Through Fear

The thing you fear doing – that’s the thing you should be doing first. Most fear in our lives is unnecessary. We’re no longer in danger of being eaten by a lion while we are out hunting and gathering.

And, there is no way around fear. If you want to get over your fear of doing something, the only way to do that is to do what you fear.

Be Adventurous

You can have a small adventure today, right in the town you live in. Go explore a tourist attraction that you’ve never been to, or search out some history of the town and go look at places from yesteryear that are still around. Learn something. Help somebody. Talk to someone new.

Adventures don’t have to be wild and enormous to feel bold and daring.
