Does it ever happen to you, where you get a physical feeling that something is about to happen, but you can’t give a logical explanation? That is your intuition at work. We all have it, although, some people have more heightened intuition than others.
If you want to develop your intuition, one of the first things you can do is learn to recognize the signs you may ‘receive.’
Here are some of the common physical signs you might experience when your intuition is trying to tell you something:
Sinking Feeling In the Pit of Your Stomach
That feeling is referred to as a gut feeling. We’ve all felt it. It feels awful. That’s because that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach is usually associated with fear and anxiety. So it may be telling you to be careful about something.
It may also occur when you have just done something, and you immediately realize that the results won’t be good or what you hoped for.
Tight Feeling In Your Stomach or Chest
You might also experience tightness in the stomach or chest. It’s often linked to anxiety, which happens when you try to perceive potentially catastrophic events. This type of feeling can feel like you are about to have a heart attack.
Heightened Sense of Sight, Smell, and Sound
When intuition is sending you messages, you might suddenly feel hyper-aware of your surroundings. Your sense of sight, smell, or sound is heightened, so you can’t help but pay attention to what’s happening around you. This usually happens when you are possibly in danger, which activates your protective intuition.
Feeling Physically Sick or Nauseous
Your intuition may be telling you that something isn’t right and you start to feel sick. The feeling can be so strong that you start to feel like you could be physically sick (and vomit) for no apparent reason. You might have headaches, nausea, dry mouth, and palpitations.
This feeling could occur if you have been working nonstop or haven’t taken a good break. You feel fatigued and worn out, so your body is trying to take care of you by telling you that you need to rest.
Loss of Energy
When you are around someone or in a situation where you suddenly feel down or sleepy, it could be that your intuition is telling you that this event or person may drain all of your energy. You might feel like you need to leave, otherwise, if you don’t you will feel depressed and anxious, and stuck in this situation if you don’t remove yourself from it now.
Sweaty Palms or Feet
Sweaty palms or feet are a sign of nervousness, stress, anxiety, or fear. Your intuition might be telling you that something risky or dangerous is about to happen. Your body recognizes the danger before it happens.
Butterflies In the Stomach
When you feel nervous, you may also feel those pesky butterflies. It’s the kind of positive nervousness, like when you are excited to see a person or do something exciting, but still feel nervous.
Goosebumps
Goosebumps are also called ‘truth bumps.’ This happens when you receive helpful guidance or intuitive knowledge. You might have heard a specific comment or an unexpected remark that resonates with you deeply. The energy rushes throughout your body, so you get those little goosebumps that pop up all over your skin.
You may also feel goosebumps when your gut feeling tells you that you are not safe. You might notice them pop up when you walk alone in a dark street and begin to wonder if you are safe or not.
Feeling Relaxed and Breathing Freely
When you’ve done something right, and you’re quite certain about it, even when you can’t explain it, you may find yourself breathing easily after an anxious moment. Your intuition tells you that you have made the right call so you feel at ease.
Once you have listened to your intuition, you will begin to feel relaxed around the shoulders, chest, and stomach. Your intuition tells you that you are on the right path, so there’s nothing to worry about.
Intuition can be developed, and the more you listen to it, the more you get in tune with your instincts. However, remember that intuition is not always logical, so before you make crucial decisions, it still helps to check in with your rational self. If you learn to strengthen your intuition, it can be a great tool you can use throughout your life.
