Have you ever experienced the sweet, wonderful peace of God?
I’m talking about that aspect of the fruit of the spirit, where the Holy Spirit works in your life, to produce that sweet serenity. God wants to grant each of us this constant quietness and tranquility, regardless of our circumstances. “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ. -Philippians 4:7. If we accept Jesus as our Savior and intercessor, we can enjoy His sweet, perfect peace.
Even amidst wars and turmoil in our world, we can remain in peace. When we put our faith and trust in God, we can experience the peace of God that exceeds our greatest expectations. Jesus says “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. -John 14:27. The true believer in Christ, who is guided under the influence of the Holy Spirit, has a peace that is abundant. This peace is available in every situation, and it’s unlike anything that the world has to offer.
This peace of God can only be produced in us when we place our lives in His hands, realizing that we are never alone. Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace and by faith, we are anchored in His love and protection, and He will never leave us to walk alone. The Psalmist David says “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. -Psalms 23:4. We too can also walk confidently in the abiding presence of God as we bask in His sweet peace. Our great God is a conqueror and by His strength, we can enjoy His abiding peace.
This inner peace from God should also be shared in our interactions with others. “…live at peace with everyone.” -Romans 12:18. As we embrace this sweet peace of God, we are expected to sow it among others, so that they too can experience the magnificent power of God in granting them this inner peace. As we reflect the fruit of the Spirit in our lives, other people will also be nurtured and will further experience the rich outflow of God’s wonderful peace.
Remain in the abiding presence of God’s peace. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:6-7. Remain in communion with God as you allow Him to fill you with His peace through the Holy Spirit. Do not give in to worries and anxieties, but rather keep your mind focused on God’s goodness and his grace.
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. -Isaiah 26:3. I pray that you will experience God’s amazing tranquility as He fills your hearts and minds as you grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ – the Prince of Peace.
