Primordial sound meditation is a healing practice taught by Deepak Chopra. Its primary goal is to let a person enter a calm and deep meditative state to achieve two things: release stress and rediscover who we really are.
Primordial sounds are elemental sounds of nature and they are supposed to help us reconnect to our spirit.
When we know and understand who we are, we are able to understand other people more. When we use these sounds as mantras, we enter into a field of expanded awareness and away from the turbulence of our day-to-day lives. By focusing on the sounds, you are able to stop the chatter in your head.
Unlike Vedic meditation where your teacher assigns a mantra, in primordial sound meditation the mantra is assigned based on the time, date and place of your birth.
