Although enjoying helping the next person is a great trait to have, it should not cause you grief or misery. Here are some ways to stop people pleasing.

1 – Set Boundaries

People pleasing is when you always go out of your way to satisfy someone else, at the expense of your own happiness. When you set boundaries, you are helping the person more in the long run.

You are being more of a support system for the person, rather than doing their work for them. You only have one life to live, and learning to set boundaries will help you live it to the fullest.

2 – Learn to Say “No”

As much as we’d like to show that we don’t care about what others think about us, we do. Some people are so pre-occupied with it, they seldom take part in things they like. Whether it’s the feeling of embarrassment, or the fear of being laughed at, caring too much only holds us back from what we want.

Here are few signs to know if you worry too much about what others think of you.

1 – You Want Everyone to Like You

In an attempt to ensure everyone likes you, you do and say things that aren’t you. You aren’t living your authentic life, which leaves you feeling miserable and alone.
