One of the most effective ways to be likable and influential is to be helpful. When you offer assistance without expecting anything in return, you show that your intentions are honorable and that you care. It shows you are not selfish, so it is a powerful way to build relationships.
When you offer help to someone without any strings attached, what does that tell them about you? That you’re wonderful, of course! It shows that you’re not simply doing something to get them to do something for you.
